Both HDMI's are hooked up and work fine. I also tried hooking up a direct antenna but it made no difference. The software update option is simply not selectable. I popped in my USB and it still wasnt selectable. I have had plenty of LCD and plasmas and have never seen this problem before. This was an older 40" model on sale, which is the only reason I bought it. I dont buy the newest stuff.
If I can't at least check the firmware to see if it is the newest "1010" which I just downloaded, I will probably have to return this TV. It might not concern me normally, except that I get a "no connection" message for about 1 second upon turn-on when it tries to find my cable box, and its annoying. It happens EVERY time I turn on the TV. Thought there might be a fix.
